I stayed for 3 nights in a Standard room at Valle Bonito, and it was an excellent value for money. The staff were exceptionally accommodating, providing advice on transport to the butterfly reserve and recommending Taco Jaime just up the street—don't miss it! The rooftop terrace was a perfect spot to enjoy my tacos, and the availability of drinking water helped reduce plastic waste.
Bathroom felt cramped.

Hot water took forever to arrive!!! Balconies adjacent to a night club meant sleepless nights!!! Parking was non-existent which is frustrating in such a tight town!!! Staff could improve in terms of resolving simple issues!!!

It could get a bit noisy at night, so maybe bring earplugs.

Solo traveler must try
The staff were super friendly and always willing to help out when I asked for local recommendations. I took their advice and got tacos to-go from a spot nearby, then enjoyed them while overlooking the rooftop terrace, it was very nice!
It was not exactly a bargain but still fair considering the service.
